Outdoor + modern living

Gardens have become more like outdoor rooms recently and clients are keen to get as much use out of their space as possible. Cooking and eating outside can be fun and more practical, where the whole family and guests can enjoy the space together. This project created alongside an eco new build I think reflects the aspirations of this popular style.

There is an open lawn for kids play, surrounded by robust planting with the Buddha as a focal point to draw the eye. The bench catches the evening sun and breaks up the long fence line view from inside the house.

A large paved area, mixed with composite decking gives plenty of space for the  outdoor kitchen and dining  table.

Semi mature olive trees, palms and simple repeat, mostly evergreen planting scheme compliments the linear design.

The  eco technologies’ shed is screened from the house with an informal mix of bee friendly planting and grasses and a meandering path, leading to some clipped yew cones and blue Ceanothus flowering small trees , providing plenty of seasonal colour.
